NoMad Tea Parlour in Manhattan

Opened on June 12th, 2024, I finally got to visit the stunning NoMad Tea Parlour.

I discovered this place through an Instagram story, and as a Cantonese food lover, I knew I had to visit. I hit up my friend Justin, and we decided to enjoy this place together. Even though he’d previously dined there, he was down to try it again with me!

Even as I was editing photos of the dishes we shared — Lobster Yee Mein and Satay Snow Pea Sprouts — my mouth was watering all over again.

The owner, Mandy Zhang, wanted to bring the comforting feeling of her childhood home-cooked meals to life and share it with others. Collaborating with chef Ai Shin Wu, born in Guangzhou, and a talented kitchen team, she created a nostalgic and creative menu, and her dream came true.

    Accessible via the N, Q, R, W trains (Broadway exit) or the 4, 6 trains (Park Avenue South exit).

final thoughts

The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, complemented by unique and refreshing cocktails. I love the aesthetic of the vintage streets of Hong Kong, and the service was A1. I also appreciated thoughtful details like hooks for coats or bags on the wall — small touches that really set this place apart from others.

While it’s on the pricier side, the incredible food and the vibes make it well worth it. I can’t wait to go back!

They’ve recently introduced dim sum options during happy hour (3 PM - 5 PM daily), which is high on my list to try. While they don’t have traditional dim sum carts (a nostalgic touch from my childhood), their menu more than makes up for it.

Oh, and the YuenYuen dessert I saw on the menu — with its milk tea cream — is calling me to try it, even though I’m not a coffee drinker! ☕
