【和煦】Breeze in Greenpoint, Brooklyn
Welcome to Breeze, a Sichuan teahouse-inspired restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
The restaurant 和煦 means "warm" in Chinese, and that is exactly the kind of atmosphere you can expect to find here. The restaurant is decorated with exposed brick walls, hanging conceptual lights, and wooden communal tables, which make it a perfect place for social gatherings.
Beyond just its inviting interior, Breeze offers mouthwatering Sichuan cuisine.
You can try their classic dishes like Kung Pao Chicken and Mapo Tofu, or even some of their unique house creations. However, fair warning — Sichuan cuisine is known for its bold, fiery flavors that may leave you wanting more.
If you’re not a big fan of spicy food, don't worry; many dishes can be customized to your liking!

heading inside
As you approach the restaurant, you'll notice its modern yet traditional Sichuan teahouse-inspired design, with a white exterior and a round window.
Once inside, you'll be greeted by a clean and modern interior with an impressive bar area that seamlessly blends traditional Chinese design with modern elements.
This gives the place a casual yet upscale vibe that's hard to resist.
I've had the pleasure of dining at Breeze twice, and on both occasions, the restaurant was packed with people.
So if you're planning to dine here, make sure to reserve your spot ahead of time.
During my visits, I noticed that there's a round table by the entrance, cozy booths for two, and tables that can accommodate three or more people.
Every time I visited Breeze, all the tables were always full, with a lively atmosphere of laughter and chatter, as people enjoyed their food and cocktails.

food highlights
Diving deeper into the menu, it features appetizers, dim sum, classic entrees, and rice and noodle dishes. One helpful aspect of the menu is the use of pepper icons next to each dish. They serve as a visual indicator of the spice level. One pepper indicates a mild but flavorful heat, while two peppers mean a dish with a serious kick (super spicy!). For those who don’t like spice, many dishes can be customized to your heat preference!
