Kismet Inn at Fire Island, New York
Kismet Inn has a rich history, serving Fire Island since 1925. This family-owned restaurant takes pride in its heritage, offering a welcoming atmosphere for generations of visitors.
Keep in mind that Kismet Inn operates seasonally, opening its doors in spring, summer, and fall before taking a winter hiatus.
After a day exploring Kismet Beach, we decided to treat ourselves to a delicious meal at Kismet Inn before returning back home to Brooklyn.

food highlights
Kismet Inn's menu offers a huge selection of dishes that capture the essence of Fire Island. With options like steamed clams, grilled fish, and of course, the legendary Rocket Fuel. This Fire Island specialty, a rum-based frozen concoction reminiscent of a piΓ±a colada, is a must-try for any visitor!
We also ordered the calamari, which lived up to its reputation β perfectly crisp and bursting with freshness. The lobster roll showcased the quality of their seafood, with succulent lobster in a toasted roll. The fries, however, were okay β not the star of the show.
Our service experience began a bit slow, likely due to the busy atmosphere and low staff. However, after understanding the busyness, we found the staff friendly and accommodating. While Kismet Inn might not offer an amazing dining experience for some, itβs a more relaxed and enjoyable kind of vibe, perfect for a casual meal after spending time at the beach.
