Fan Fried Rice Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Gabriel and I passed by Fan Fried Rice Bar a couple times when we were heading back home from Williamsburg. Later finding out that this was actually a Taiwanese gem!
As a Taiwanese American who spent two incredible years studying in Taiwan, I've been craving the authentic flavors of Taiwanese cuisine. So, when we realized this spot was not only in Brooklyn but also conveniently in Williamsburg, we knew we had to pay a visit.

about Fan Fried Rice Bar
Fan Fried Rice Bar is named after the Chinese word "Fàn 飯," meaning rice.
The restaurant features a logo that resembles a handheld fan, highlighting its cultural roots.
Originally located in Bedstuy since 2018, Fan Fried Rice Bar moved to Williamsburg in 2022.
Now, Fan Fried Rice Bar continues to attract customers with its commitment to authentic Taiwanese flavors.
Paul Chen, a chef from Taiwan, launched this restaurant. He recognized a lack of authentic Taiwanese cuisine in New York.
Inspired by his grandmother's fried rice, Paul aims to share the genuine taste of fried rice — without soy sauce.

drink highlights
Lychee Taiwan Beer & Taiwanese Pale Lager
If you’re eating Taiwanese dishes, you HAVE TO have a Taiwanese beer.
I love my drinks sweet, so I went for my favorite go-to drink — Taiwanese Lychee Beer.
This is actually also one of my favorite beers when I visit Taiwan during the summer. It’s sweet, refreshing, and perfect for summer!
This drink also paired well with my Mushroom Fried Rice. Drinking the beer and eating the fried rice made me feel like I was back in Taiwan again.
Gabriel ordered the Taiwanese Pale Lager, which is another classic Taiwanese beer that’s a must-try for beer enthusiasts. Unlike the intensity of an IPA, this lager has a more refreshing and balanced profile, which makes it a great choice for any time of the year!
