As Brian and I were planning our adventures in Dallas, I stumbled upon The French Room while browsing for lunch spots and things to do around the area. My heart skipped a beat. I LOVE high tea. The delicate teacups, the aromatic teas, and the delectable array of miniature desserts — anything cute and dainty, I just absolutely love! There was one last opening on Resy for Saturday and secured the booking at 2:30 for two people. I was excited to see what The French Room was about to offer!

Located inside The Aldophus hotel, we headed to the right side, entering The French Room, with a friendly lady at the front desk greeting us and inquiring about our reservations. With a smile, I confirmed our booking for 2:30. She welcomed us and guided us to our seats. From the moment we stepped foot inside, the regal atmosphere enveloped us. The grandeur of the high ceilings adorned with intricately designed moldings, bathed in soft and enchanting glass chandelier lighting, and the beautiful marble floors left us in awe. The meticulously arranged Louis XVI-style chairs and tables set the stage for a perfect dining experience. The warm greetings from the staff made us feel truly valued.

I was initially concerned about my outfit (I wore a crop top and high-waisted distressed shorts), I asked our waitress and inquired about the dress code. Thankfully, she not only approved but also admired my unique sense of style, assuring me that I stood out in the best way possible. With her affirmation, I felt more confident, relaxed, ready to embrace the enchanting high tea experience that lay ahead.

Upon making your reservation, you are greeted with the regular Afternoon Tea special. The Afternoon Tea special starts off by offering a choice between champagne or sparkling non-alcoholic cider. As you continue on your high tea journey, you'll be treated to an exquisite selection of teas that perfectly complement the savory and sweet delights. The Taiwanese Oolong tea is thoughtfully paired with your savory indulgences, while the Indian Black Tea is elegantly paired with scones, tea cakes, and pastries. With the Indian Black tea experience, they provide milk and sugar cubes for your own personalized taste. The overall process is very similar to savoring a meticulously curated tasting menu at a fine dining restaurant, where a specific wine perfectly accompanies each dish. The French Room brings that same level of sophistication and attention to detail but with a delightful twist of tea!

While it's worth noting that each table doesn't have its own individual teapot, the attentive staff ensures that your teacup is never left empty. With a touch of elegance, they gracefully pour the tea for you, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience. They respectfully refrain from pouring more when you express your satisfaction or decline further tea. While the absence of pouring your own tea may initially seem disappointing, the attentive service provided by the staff more than compensates for it, adding an extra touch of sophistication to your high tea experience.

As soon as our first savory tier stand arrived, it was clear we were in for a treat! Despite Brian's initial concern about the portion sizes, I reassured him that we would be fine. By the time we finished the yummy offerings on the first tray, we were already quite full.

Moving on to the second-tier stand, which was filled with an assortment of desserts, we couldn't resist indulging further. To our surprise, the luxurious treats and pastries left us completely satisfied, and we found ourselves with no room for more. Thankfully, the thoughtful staff kindly provided a small takeout box to package our remaining pastries and desserts, ensuring that none of the delicious bites would go to waste!

Each delicious bite we’ve savored surpassed our expectations in terms of taste, freshness, and presentation. As the 3-tiered stand made its grand entrance to our table, the staff took the time to explain each item, ensuring we fully appreciated the flavors and textures that awaited us. While the treats appeared to be bite-sized, they were surprisingly filling! The attention to detail and the thoughtfulness put into the preparation of each delicacy was truly commendable. The flavors danced on our palates, taking us on a delightful journey of taste and indulgence.

We were greeted with genuine smiles and a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment we entered.

Despite my initial self-consciousness about not wearing the dresses and heels that many other guests wore, the servers immediately put me at ease. I mustered the courage to ask one of the servers if my outfit was suitable, and thankfully, she not only reassured me but also praised my unique sense of style. Her kind words made me feel appreciated and (embraced) for (who I am.

Throughout our dining experience, the attentive staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. They anticipated our needs and graciously refilled our teacups whenever they were running low. Their genuine concern for our well-being extended beyond the culinary experience, as they frequently checked in to inquire about our overall enjoyment and offered assistance whenever needed. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to engage in conversation added an extra touch of warmth to our dining experience.

The level of service provided at The French Room exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff's genuine care and attention to detail made us feel like honored guests. Their commitment to creating a memorable experience was evident in their unwavering dedication to ensuring our utmost satisfaction. It is this exceptional level of service and hospitality that truly sets The French Room apart.
