March β€˜24

Where did March even go? Seriously, feels like I just blinked and it vanished! Maybe it's true what they say, time really does fly when you're getting older haha! Unlike the busy months of January and February, March was more chill and slow. But that doesn't mean it wasn't filled with moments of reconnecting, learning, and understanding.

Monthly Wins

March was all about leveling up my skills and becoming a better version of myself! In December 2023, I decided to set ambitious goals for this year and one of them was taking a class each month. I finally finished my Canva course that I started in January β€” and let me tell you, there was a LOT to learn, from mastering layouts to creating killer graphics. But pushing myself through it was so rewarding. Even familiar concepts offered fresh perspectives and time-saving tips that will be a game-changer for my future projects.

Speaking of challenges, I also started a new class on Google Sheets. As someone who mostly relied on basic spreadsheet functions, let me tell you, this was an eye-opener! It was definitely tougher than I expected, and those practice exercises to improve my skills pushed me to my limits. But hey, anything worth learning rarely comes easy, right? The knowledge I gained will be super helpful in the long run, and that's what keeps me motivated.

This month was also a win for personal growth! I finally started investing in myself by taking these courses. These skills are essential for me to become a better business owner and leader, and I'm so glad I took the plunge.

Another win for March? Stepping outside my comfort zone on the networking front. As a self-proclaimed introvert, reaching out to people can be daunting, but I pushed myself to do it anyway. It wasn't easy, but baby steps, right?

And let's not forget about finances! March was the month I finally got a handle on my spending. I broke everything down in a detailed Excel sheet (because spreadsheets are super helpful!), and it completely changed my perspective. No more overspending β€” hello financial responsibility!

Last but not least, I decided to make Brooklyn a little greener by volunteering at a local Pocket Garden. Not only did it feel good to give back, but it also sparked a desire to find even more ways to contribute to my community. Here's to a greener and more vibrant Brooklyn for everyone!

Current Habits

Overall, I crushed my workout and yoga goals this month!

Except for that one week when my period decided to visit (you feel me, ladies?) Even during those painful cramps, I still managed to crawl out of bed and do a short 20-minute yoga session. Frankly, stretching out the pain really boosted my mood.

The one area I want to improve on? Waking up earlier! Sticking to a consistent sleep schedule is definitely a work in progress.

Goal Review

March was a month of accomplishments! I achieved most of my goals, but there's always room for growth, especially when it comes to striving for success for my business. I know I need some guidance on strategizing for success, so that's my focus for April. Self-care and self-love are also always super important in this journey, and I'm committed to learning and growing every step of the way.

Networking is another area I'll keep working on. Sure, it might make me a little nervous, but I know there are amazing people out there who can offer valuable support and guidance. Here's to finding those connections and building a strong network!

Lessons Learned

March's biggest aha moment for me was the constant reminder that "it's all about the journey, not the destination." I kept hearing this in YouTube videos I’ve watched, articles, and even casual conversations. I’ve been so wrapped up in the desire for immediate success and want to skip past the struggles. But this month, I realized that the challenges, and the learning experiences, are actually the most exciting parts of life! Without the journey of growth, life would be pretty mundane, wouldn't it?

So, I've been making a conscious effort to embrace every moment, no matter how big or small. Taking a deep breath, focusing on the present β€” because if I'm not present now, how can I truly appreciate what comes next? This shift in perspective has already made a difference in how I approach challenges and setbacks. Instead of getting discouraged, I see each struggle as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Priorities

April's top priority for me is all about inner peace.

I had a crazy insomnia experience during my period week. One night, desperate for sleep, I decided to try a 10-minute meditation session. Let me tell you, that experience was crazy! My body felt completely relaxed like it was floating in another universe.

This rediscovery of meditation has reignited my passion for the practice. So, my goal for April is to establish a daily meditation routine, both in the morning and before bed. I'm also committed to maintaining that mindfulness and gratitude I cultivated in March. Self-care is super important, and I'm prioritizing my health and well-being to finally close the chapter on anxiety.

Speaking of exciting adventures, April brings a trip to Upstate New York with my love, Gabriel, and our furry baby, Treasure! We're planning a multi-day hiking trip for Gabriel’s birthday, and I can't wait to explore new trails and soak in the beauty of nature. Who knows what new opportunities await us in those beautiful mountains?

On that note, how was YOUR March? I'd love to hear about your reflections and what you're looking forward to in April!
