FAQ

Q: Is it worth getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred card?

A: It depends on your spending habits and travel frequency. If you frequently travel internationally (let’s say a couple times a year) and want to avoid foreign transaction fees, this card is an excellent beginner option. However, if you rarely travel, other credit cards may be better suited for your lifestyle within the United States.

Q: What are the disadvantages of the Chase Sapphire Preferred card?

A:

  • ANNUAL FEE
The $95 annual fee may feel steep for users who don’t take advantage of the card’s benefits.

  • HIGH APR
The variable APR (20.74%–27.74%) can be costly if you carry a balance. Paying off your balance monthly is crucial to avoid high-interest charges.

Q: Does the Chase Sapphire Preferred card include lounge access?

A: No, the Preferred card doesn’t include lounge access. For lounge access, consider upgrading to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, which it also offers Priority Pass membership.
