Clothes

When it comes to packing clothes, focus on your essentials:

  • Underwear

  • Socks

  • Tops

  • Outerwear

  • Bottoms

  • Shoes

  • Pajamas

Toiletries

This is very important: make sure your toiletries are ALL travel-sized. Regular-sized toiletries won't make it through TSA security, and you don't want to risk losing them. Plus, traveling with travel-sized products is better for your luggage weight. If you plan on shopping at your destination, cutting down the size of your toiletries can give you more space for new purchases.

WHERE TO FIND TRAVEL-SIZED TOILETRIES

You can find travel-sized items at any local pharmacy, grocery store, or beauty retailer. One personal tip is to use your Sephora points to get travel-sized toiletries from their rewards program. This way, you can accrue points from purchasing beauty products and also get travel-sized toiletries.

KEEP YOUR TOILETRIES TOGETHER

After you're done traveling, don't throw away your travel-sized toiletries. Keep them together in your toiletries bag and store them in your suitcase. This way, you'll have everything you need for your next trip and you won't have to worry about packing again.

  • Shampoo & conditioner

  • Body lotion

  • Face wash

  • Face moisturizer

  • Sunscreen

  • Makeup & makeup brushes

  • Makeup remover

  • Hairbrush

  • Deodorant

duffel bag (optional)

A duffel bag can be a handy addition to your luggage, but it's optional. If you have room, consider packing one inside your carry-on luggage for extra storage space. It's perfect for carrying any extras you pick up during your trip and can serve as a personal carry-on.

personal item

Your personal item is basically like a handbag or a backpack you can put under in front of the seat when you arrive at your seat at the airplane. You want to make sure you have ALL your essential items in there for easy access, such as:

  • Passport / ID

  • Wallet

  • Keys

  • Glasses and/or sunglasses

  • Eye mask for sleeping

  • Charger(s)

  • Lip balm

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Hand lotion

  • Headphones

  • Travel-sized toothpaste, toothbrush, and floss

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Healthy snacks for munchies

  • Book (optional)

  • Travel journal (optional)

  • Pen (optional)

  • iPad (optional)

  • Portable charger (optional)

travel tips

Tip #1: pack light

Whether you're traveling domestically or internationally, packing light is crucial. Even if you're traveling just for fun, keep everything simple. If you're going to a destination for a month or longer, try to have only one carry-on item and a backpack/duffel bag and avoid having to check your bag. So, you won't have to wait for your luggage after you land and can head straight to your destination.

Tip #2: carry-on luggage + personal item

Most airlines allow one carry-on luggage, which means you can bring a carry-on luggage for your personal items and a small personal bag for your essentials. But, each airline is different, so make sure you check with your airline to see the guidelines. You can put your carry-on luggage on the overhead bins and having a personal bag also means you can put it underneath the seat before flying and take things out afterwards.

Tip #3: wear comfy clothes + shoes on flight

Doesn’t matter how long you’re flying for, you should always be wearing comfortable clothes and shoes is crucial for a long flight. Your feet swole after sitting for long periods of time and wearing comfortable shoes helps. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes to ensure a comfortable flight.
