Growing up playing MapleStory, I was obsessed with the archer class. So, when the chance to try real-life archery popped up, I couldn't say no! My partner, Gabriel, and my brother Brian, were down, and we signed up for a beginner's class at Gotham Archery in Brooklyn.
Whether you're a total newbie or looking to improve your aim, this Brooklyn spot has something for everyone.

Before you visit Gotham Archery, you'll need to fill out a quick waiver online, which will be sent to you via email after you confirm your dates online. Think of it as your official "I'm ready to be an archer" pass.
Next up, is the Introductory Class. Don't worry if you've never touched a bow before — everyone starts somewhere. Expert instructors will guide you through the basics, from holding the bow to releasing the arrow. It's like learning a new superpower!
Gotham Archery provides all the gear you need, so you can focus on hitting the bullseye (or at least getting close). Just remember, listen to the instructor’s guidance and safety first!

I had so much fun! Gotham Archery in Brooklyn was a lot bigger than I expected. The moment you step inside, you're transported into a different world of focus and fun. The range is spacious, with different areas catering to various skill levels. It's the perfect spot for both beginners and professional archers.
Our introductory class was awesome! The instructors were super friendly and made learning archery super fun and easy. They broke down the basics, from posture to aim, in a way that was easy to understand. Plus, I love they provide basic equipment so you don’t have to rent or buy one yourself to learn.
The best part? The atmosphere. Everyone was there to have fun, and there was no pressure to be perfect. It's a place where you can let loose and enjoy the challenge of hitting the bullseye.

AGE RESTRICTION
Archers must be at least 10 years old. Those under 18 need a grown-up to join the fun. Little ones can cheer from the sidelines.

DRESS CODE
Comfort is key! Wear clothes that let you move freely. Closed-toe shoes are a must for safety. Leave the loose stuff at home (jewelry, loose or ripped clothing, etc.)
