To reach Playa Zoní, travelers can drive directly to the beach. There is a small “parking lot” available. In case the parking lot is full, additional parking is allowed on the side of the road, as long as it doesn’t block other vehicles getting out who want to get out of the beach!

One of the best parts about Playa Zoní is that it is free to access. Visitors don’t need to obtain any permits or pay entry fees, making it an accessible destination for all beach lovers.

Playa Zoní Overview

Playa Zoní has a serene and secluded atmosphere, making it the best beach destination for introverts — especially if you’re like me and love to stay away from the crowds. I fell in love with Playa Zoní right when we arrived and settled in.

The beach is renowned for its pristine white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters, creating the perfect place for pictures and setting for relaxation and enjoyment. Its remote location adds to its charm, offering a peaceful retreat for beachgoers.

While chilling on the soft sands of Playa Zoní, consider bringing a picnic to snack on while enjoying the coastal scenery. Remember to pick up any trash to help preserve the beach's pristine environment.

There are no amenities at Playa Zoní — with no restrooms or showers available directly on the beach. Visitors may need to find restrooms at nearby restaurants or accommodations.

Additionally, be mindful of the fragile reefs lining the coast and choose swimming areas carefully to avoid disturbing the marine ecosystem. When you’re swimming at Playa Zoní, you can see the breathtaking views of Cayo Norte and Culebritas just right across!

During certain times of the year — particularly from April to June — Playa Zoní serves as a nesting ground for endangered sea turtles. Respect these magnificent creatures by refraining from disturbing their nests and eggs, contributing to the conservation efforts of the local ecosystem.

In the picture below, Gabriel was on a mission to get a fresh coconut down from the palm trees as we were walking along the shores. He got one down and after a while, finally cracked it open! We had fresh coconut juice along with some sand in our mouths 😂 — but the experience was still amazing.
