【大安森林公園】Daan Forest Park in Taipei
Located in Taipei, Taiwan, lies this expansive Daan Forest Park — a beautifully green oasis with tons of different activities to do within. Gabriel and I decided to stop by and visit Daan Forest Park after exploring Taipei 101 — we fell in love with how amazing this park was.

Overview of Daan Forest Park
Located in Taipei’s Daan District lies this big Daan Forest Park spanning about 200 acres.
In 1932, when Japan colonized Taiwan, the area that is now Daan Forest Park was chosen to be a park. It finally opened in 1994 after a long process of clearing illegal buildings.
The Daan Forest Park is to resemble somewhat similar to New York’s Central Park for locals to take a break from the busy city life.

What to Do
Lose yourself in the calm Daan Forest Park as you walk along its paths, surrounded by the beautiful green nature and different sounds of birds singing.
Take time to relax, sit at benches and immerse yourself in nature.

If you love birds, you must come here to watch some unique birds!
Grab your binoculars and watch all these different birds fly, walk, or swim in the pond.

When the sun sets, be on the lookout for some fireflies dancing around and illuminating the sky!
Unfortunately when Gabriel and I visited in October and during the afternoon, there weren’t any fireflies out. But, I hope you get the chance to see some fireflies!

My favorite way to unwind after a hectic day is be close to water.
Walk around the pond in Daan Forest Park and watch turtles swimming around, ducks gliding around the surface, and egrets walking.

How to Get There:
MRT (Mass Rapid Transit):
Take the RED LINE and exit on the Daan Park Station (大安森林公園)
YouBike:
There quite a few YouBike stations surrounding the park. Just note that biking is not permitted inside the park
You can also access Daan Forest Park by walking or taking a yellow cab.
