September ‘24

Hey! Welcome to my September Diaries and happy fall! 🌻🧸✨

Although this month felt like it went by slowly, after journaling and reflecting, I realized that there was still a lot to be grateful for.

favorite September highlights

Grove Refillable Spray Bottle Cleaner

I recently downloaded the Grove app because I want to make sure that when I clean our apartment, we use clean materials that don't involve animal cruelty and minimize the use of plastic.

I'm really enjoying the cleaning products so far, so I might consider subscribing to become a member!

Plant support for my plant, Isabelle

I’ve had my plant which I’ve named her, Isabelle since 2020, and as she’s grown taller and taller each year, she started leaning more.

I’ve repotted her multiple times this summer and each time I’ve repotted, she still remained hanging to one side after a few days.

So, since we’ve settled to our new apartment, I’ve decided to buy a plant support and repot her.

From then, I’ve noticed she loves her support, it’s like a back brace for her, and I’m super excited to see her grow even more. 🪴

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

I've always loved Tim Burton, and one of my favorite movies of his is Beetlejuice! So, when I heard that a sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, was in the works with the same actors and producer, Tim Burton, I was super excited.

It felt like a nostalgic throwback for Millennials who grew up watching Tim Burton's films, and adding Jenna Ortega for the Gen-Z viewers was a great touch.

I really appreciate that they didn't change any of the characters and stuck with the originals. It was a hilarious movie, but true fans know that the first original Beetlejuice is the best.

Cute moments of Treasure

Here are some favorite shots of Treasure in September.

He’s so cute!

Flowers from Gabriel

When Gabriel was on a business trip away from home, he surprised me one day with flowers!

I wasn't feeling too good, and he said he got something special for me. I wasn't sure what it was — like a package or a normal gift — but it was flowers!

My favorite flowers are sunflowers because they always seem so happy. I also grew sunflowers as a kid so it’s a sentimental thing. 🌻

Decided to try Prose!

After watching many reviews and seeing a ton of ads for Prose, I decided to give it a try.

Growing up, I've always thought — and had been told — I have straight hair. I recently discovered that I actually have a mix of wavy and straight hair.

I saw an ad featuring an Asian girl who didn't know she had wavy hair until she tried Prose, and that convinced me to give it a shot.

I took the quiz with my hair concerns, and once I finished my old shampoo and conditioner, I started using Prose.

I've only tried the shampoo so far because I’m still using my old conditioner, but the Prose shampoo smells amazing — like sweets. 🧁

The bottle seemed small kinda small though — as big as the size of my hand — so I'm not sure if it's a trial size or if the full-sized bottle is sent later?

Gabriel even noticed that my hair still smells good even after two days without washing it, so that's a good sign!

I'm looking forward to trying the whole Prose package once I finish my old conditioner and styling cream. (Btw, this is not sponsored lol.)

D.C. adventures with Gabriel’s family 🧡

To celebrate Gabriel’s mom’s birthday, Gabriel, Treasure, and I drove from Brooklyn to D.C.

I've been to D.C. once in the summer with my parents, and once with Gabriel visiting his sister in the winter, but never in the fall, so this was different.

Checking the weather, it was still very hot. But I didn’t expect it to be so humid! On the first day we got there, I got two kisses from mosquitoes 🥲🦟

But other than that, I love how beautiful D.C. was — the decor, the style, the shops, the people, and the food!

Cocktails at The Campbell

After meeting Virna at Remi43 in the Midtown area, we encountered a rush of people due to the UN meeting taking place. This disrupted our original plans, so we ended up going to The Campbell for cocktails.

Interestingly, we later discovered that Gossip Girl had featured this place!

Virna had The Campbell saved in her list, which worked out perfectly since we were both heading to the Grand Central subway station afterward.

Navigating through Grand Central was a bit challenging due to the crowds of tourists and business people, but we eventually found The Campbell and enjoyed the amazing vibe and stunning interior.

Unfortunately, outside food or drinks were not allowed, so I had to say goodbye to my matcha from Remi43!

Gifts from Italy

Brian had been traveling in Italy for about two and a half weeks.

When we recently saw him, he gave us some gifts, including chocolate, holy water from the Vatican, a magnet with a butt cheek that says "I love Italy" 🫣, and Limoncello.

By the way, Limoncello is very strong — 30% alcohol! 🍋🍸

Celebrating Brian’s late birthday

To celebrate his birthday, we went to Sappe, a Thai restaurant with a diner-style vibe. It was so much fun!

Afterward, we went bar hopping and stumbled upon a hidden gem in the city called The Tippler. It quickly became one of our favorite bars because their cocktails are incredible.

They also have fall cocktails available and a photobooth, which we loved and used to take some photos!
