【台灣高鐵】Taiwan High Speed Rail Business Class
Zooming at an incredible 300 km/hour, the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (HSR) is the fasted way to travel across Taiwan, connecting the North to the South in just 2 hours and 12 minutes.
I'll be sharing an in-depth experience riding in the luxurious Taiwan HSR Business Class. Ready to discover if it's worth the experience? Let's dive in! ✨

Pricing
Now, let's talk numbers!
The cost of a Business Class ticket on Taiwan's High-Speed Rail is tailored to your final stop.
My journey from Taoyuan Airport to Taichung was priced at $1010 TWD ($37 USD), while the venture from Taichung to Taipei set me back $1250 TWD ($39 USD). Comparatively, an Economy ticket from Taichung to Taipei clocks in at $700 TWD ($22.50 USD).
The price difference between the two cities was minimal, making the Business Class experience surprisingly reasonable.
PRO TIP: Keep your ticket in hand — it’s your way in and out!

Seats
Let's talk seating - Business Class style!
The layout boasts a comfy 2x2 configuration, offering the freedom to choose between a scenic window view or easy aisle access.
Now, about that seat width — it's super roomy!
Need to recline? Absolutely! The clever design allows for a gentle recline without intruding your neighbor's space — thanks to the generous seating distance.
Worried about legroom? Don’t! There's an abundance, so feel free to stretch your legs out.

Amenities
While there's no in-seat entertainment on the Business Class HSR, the journey is far from mundane.
With outlets strategically placed between window and aisle seats you can power up your devices and do work or browse on your digital devices!
Plus, there’s complimentary Wi-Fi — your ticket to productivity, entertainment, or a well-deserved digital detox.

Snacks + Refreshments
Coffee or tea is available for free! A train attendant will be pushing around a cart that provides coffee or tea for you.
They’ll also give you a free snack of your choice that they have currently at that time. There’s also a refreshing wet towel for you to wipe your hands!
They also will pass by with newspapers for you to read if you want to read that. And if you have any trash, they’ll come by with a bin. Kind of like at an airplane feeling, but on a train!

Bathroom Sign
If you’re not sure where the bathrooms at, there’s a bathroom sign located on top of the doorways letting you know which direction the bathroom is at!

Vending Machine
If you’re thirsty and want something else other than tea or coffee, there’s a vending machine in-between the walkway.

Final Thoughts
The Business Cabin was quiet, clean and the service was great. It felt similar to flying on an airplane, but with the added luxury of spacious seating and windows to view Taiwan’s beauty while the train moves quickly.
Business Class tickets are a hot commodity, especially during holidays and they tend to sell out quickly. If you know the date and time you would be traveling, make sure to book your tickets in advance online!
