Trad Room: Japanese-fusion brunch in Bedstuy
Gabriel and I recently had an amazing brunch experience at Trad Room in Brooklyn, Bedford Stuyvesant.
Trad Room has always been on my must-dine bucket list, and when Gabriel surprised me with a date night there, it quickly became one of our top favorite places to eat in Brooklyn.
We love taking our friends to Trad Room, especially those visiting from outside New York. It has the perfect mix of cozy ambiance and delicious food. This time, we tried their brunch, and it was fantastic!

heading inside
The restaurant might not catch your attention from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time and around the world.
The interior design and decor are amazing, blending vintage with an industrial vibe flawlessly.
Once you're inside, you'll find the restaurant surprisingly spacious. Long rows of black-cushioned seating are lined against the walls, providing plenty of space for guests.
It's comfortable and inviting, and you can easily lose track of time enjoying not just the food, but the entire experience.
What truly sets Trad Room apart is its attention to detail in the decor. The vintage treasures scattered around the restaurant add so much character. You'll find unique, quirky items that make you feel like you're exploring a hidden antique shop.
Even the bathrooms have a unique vintage twist. Trust me; they're unlike any other restroom you've seen in a restaurant. 🍽️🕰️✨

outdoor patio
I love to enjoy my meal out in the open air when the weathers nice. But even during the colder months, they've got you covered – literally! They have these portable heaters at each table in the backyard, so you can stay warm and cozy.
There's a wooden shade covering that provides relief from the sun, so you won't roast in the heat. It's a thoughtful touch.
I absolutely loved the greenery that's integrated into the backyard. Plants hanging above create a lovely natural ambiance, and the white-painted fences with black drawings add an artistic flair to the place. Everything just comes together so nicely.
The seats? Oh, they're cushioned and comfortable, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your meal. The tables are just the right size, too, not too big, not too small.

brunch highlights
Their brunch menu is pretty diverse, offering a range of drinks, cocktails, and brunch specialties.
When we went with our friends, we decided to go for a little bit of everything.
The three of us ordered the Castella French Toast (which is exclusive to brunch) and the Beef Burger.
For drinks, we went with the iced matcha latte (with a touch of sugar), iced coffee, and an espresso martini.
Speaking from my own experience, the Castella French Toast was absolutely delicious. I'm usually not a fan of French toast that's too eggy or heavy, but this was spot on. It had the perfect level of sweetness, with fresh fruits beautifully garnishing the plate.
If you're a matcha enthusiast like myself, you absolutely must try their matcha latte.
