Recently, I celebrated my birthday with a memorable dinner at The River Café, thanks to my thoughtful partner Gabriel and my brother Brian. The dress code hinted at the upscale experience and added to the excitement. What made The River Café even more memorable was that Gabriel's mom mentioned that she had dined at this iconic restaurant in the 80s — which made dining at The River Café even more special for me.

The River Café has a timeless and elegant vibe as soon as you walk in. They have a formal dress code, which means if you're a guy, you need a jacket and collared shirt, and a tie is a good idea if you want to look fancy (but they're not too strict about it).
You can't wear casual clothes like jeans, workout clothes, or sandals since they want everyone to feel elegant and refined while they're dining there.

Once you step inside, you'll be greeted with warm, golden lighting that adds to the timeless elegance of the space. If you want, you can check your coats. The classic furnishings and deep wood tones will take you back in time, adding to the sophisticated charm.
The dining room is spacious and offers various seating options, including plush booths and cozy tables for two. However, the real star of the show is the window seating that offers breathtaking waterfront views of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Each course was amazing, showcasing seasonal ingredients and the chef's creative artistry. Although the portions may seem small at first glance, but don't be fooled!
The focus is on quality over quantity, and each course is perfectly sized to leave you feeling satisfied, just like me.
Even though we ordered dessert and it tasted like heaven, I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites because I was already super full.
