【筏子溪】Fazi Riverway in Taichung, Taiwan
Ever heard of Fazi Riverway in Taichung? This scenic spot might not be on everyone's radar, but trust me, it's worth a visit.
I had Fazi Riverway (筏子溪) bookmarked in one of my places to check out, and after getting coffee at CREAMY DAILY CAFE and exploring Fengle Sculpture Park, Gabriel and I decided to rent YouBikes to bike to Fazi Riverway without knowing how far it was going to be… Off we went!

We had some trouble finding Fazi Riverway through Google Maps, but we eventually made it! Even with the bare surroundings and construction blocking the stairs, we managed to climb the hill with our YouBikes after a few failed attempts.
When we got to the top, we noticed the Taichung sign was also under construction, but the natural surroundings were beautiful. It felt like our effort to bike up there was worth it. There weren't many people around, and the river was flowing peacefully. Some were sitting and enjoying the nature, while others took a stroll.

Imagine smooth, well-maintained paths along the Fazi Riverway. Fazi Riverway was the perfect place for biking and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The huge Taichung sign was an excellent spot for taking pictures to remember you were there. There were paths both at the top and bottom of the hill for biking and for walking, and seats to relax under the gazebo, and admire the river and the breathtaking views.
This was one of my favorite memories when visiting Taichung. Although the Fazi Riverway was pretty bare, biking along the path and watching the sunset was incredible.

BEST TIME TO GO
Aim for late afternoon when the sun dips low, casting a warm glow on the river. Nighttime is another option when the giant "TAICHUNG" sign lights up! We went in the afternoon, and let's just say… it was toasty! 🔥
