【文心秀泰影城 丹普廳】Wenxin Showtimes Luxury Tempurpedic Cinema Experience in Taichung
During a trip to Taichung, we got a great local tip from my partner's barber: check out Wenxin Showtime (文心秀泰影城).
We were actually looking for sunglasses (my partner has a tendency to lose them!), and the barber suggested this mall. Little did we know, Wenxin Showtime isn't just a mall — it's home to two separate movie theater experiences, one being the Dolby Atmos Theater and the other being the ultra-luxurious Tempur cinema on the 7th floor!
After seeing some photos online, we were hooked.
This Tempurpedic movie theater was unlike anything we'd ever seen, with reclining seats and a VIP lounge.
I first visited with my parents and then again this year with my partner. With that being said, I'm excited to share all the details, from getting tickets to enjoying the VIP treatment, within this blog post!
purchasing movie tickets
Since the Tempur theater only plays ONE movie every 3 - 4 hours, I recommend checking the movie times online before you head out.
The movie time and options here are quite different from what you’ll find in regular Dolby Atmos and standard theaters!
You can buy your tickets in advance online or in person at the 7th-floor Showtime movie theater.
If you’re planning to buy your tickets in person, just head to the 7th floor of the Wenxin Showtime Cinema, where you’ll find the regular ticket-purchasing counter.
There are two separate lines at this counter. One line is for the Regular Theater and Dolby Atmos, while the other, which is smaller and shorter, is designated for the Tempur experience.
Don’t worry about getting confused about which line you should be at! There’s a display clearly indicating which line is for which experience, so you can easily find your way.

Tempur VIP lounge
Guests are welcome to enter the Tempur VIP lounge an hour before the movie starts, where they can enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks. You can even bring these treats into the Tempur movie theater!
Access to the lounge is exclusive to those who have purchased Tempur movie tickets, and it offers unlimited free password-protected Wi-Fi.
On my first visit last year with my parents, I noticed that the popcorn came in regular bags, and we had to grab snacks ourselves at a counter outside before heading to the lounge.
However, when I visited this year with my partner, we were treated to two different flavors of popcorn —Sour Cream & Onion and a cool mix of Caramel and Cheddar — packaged in sealed SHOWTIME bags, perfect for taking home!
The lounge provides a variety of free drinks, and for hot coffee or tea, you can ask the staff. Just a heads up, though: those types of drinks (the ones served in a cup) must stay in the lounge. But you can bring in any drinks with a cap on top inside the theater. Once you’re in the theater, they kindly ask you not to leave and grab any other food or drinks.
In addition to waffles and drinks, you can also select an appetizer of the day. During my second visit with my partner, we chose something reminiscent of a sweet Chinese donut.

private lounge bathroom
The Tempur theater not only has its own VIP lounge but also its own personal gender-neutral bathroom!
This bathroom is much more VIP and upscale than the regular movie theater bathroom on the outside. I thought the regular bathroom at the Wenxin Showtime was already luxurious, but this Tempur bathroom is super elevated and high-tech.
When you enter the bathroom, the toilet seat cover automatically comes up when you approach the toilet and flushes on its own as you get off the toilet seat. (I was definitely caught off guard when the toilet seat came up on its own. 😂) Not to mention, it’s a heated toilet seat cover, so your cushion won’t be cold during the winter.
The sink is also pretty futuristic as well. Not only can the sink handle wash your hands, but it can also dry them. There are instructions on the side of the mirror to teach you how to use the faucet if you’re unsure!

the Tempur experience
The first time my parents and I went to see “Killers of the Flower Moon,” we had the whole theater to ourselves! With no one else buying tickets, we could personally choose our seats when we were purchasing our tickets at the ticket counter, which made the experience even better. It felt exclusive and special.
When I returned for a second visit with my partner to watch “Gladiator 2,” there were two other couples with assigned seats, including us. The Tempur cinema features a total of four rows, with two seats on the side and four in the middle, totaling 14 double Tempur seats, making it the perfect spot for couples.
I highly recommend sitting in the lower rows of Tempurpedic seats if you enjoy looking up at the screen. However, if you prefer to look down at the screen, go for seats starting from the third row up.
Each Tempur seat comes with a pillow, blanket, basket for your personal belongings, disposable slippers, a small personal table, a cup holder for your drink, and even a remote to adjust your seat.
As I sank into my seat, I couldn’t help but admire how comfortable and plush it felt. I loved being able to adjust the chair for the most comfortable viewing experience. There was so much space to even sprawl out!
