Gatcha Arcade in Tangram, Queens
If you want a fun and unique arcade and gaming experience in New York City, head over to Flushing, Queens, and visit Gatcha at Tangram Mall.
Unlike other arcades in the city, Gatcha offers a modern, Asian-inspired setting and a variety of interactive games, along with an enormous selection of claw machines filled with cute items. The experience at Gatcha reminded me of our visits to Taiwan and playing the claw machines at night markets to win adorable plushies.

Arcade Games (or not)
When we got inside, the arcade was a lot smaller than I thought! While Gatcha has a decent selection of fun, modern arcade games such as Maimai, racing games, basketball, Pacman, DDR, and more to keep you entertained, it's clear the real star of the show is the claw machine section.
I mean, who can resist the temptation of those giant plushies or luxury items such as Hermes handbags and accessories? From adorable plushies to high-end goodies, there's something for everyone.
I managed to win a Sumikko Gurashi! It took a couple of tries, but winning the claw machines wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.
However, it gets more challenging to win as the prizes become more tempting (tried the Hermes bag, and that was super difficult!).
But let's be real, winning one of those luxury items is probably harder than winning the lottery. Still, it's fun to dream, right?

overall vibe
Gatcha has a cool atmosphere. It's perfect for hanging out with friends or enjoying some solo gaming time. The place could use a few more arcade games to balance out the claw machine focus, but it's still a fun spot to check out!
