It’s crazy how life has a way of surprising us, often turning unexpected twists into amazing memories. This happened when my friend, Joley and I decided to meet for lunch in TriBeCa, but only to find that the spot we originally intended to dine at was closed for a private event.
We were just strolling around, and before we knew it, we found ourselves on Broadway Street in Soho. And you won't believe what caught my eye – Il Mulino!
It's been one of those places I always told myself I'd try someday as I passed by on my way to work. But guess what? On that seriously hot and sticky day, we looked at each other and said, "Why not give it a shot?" And that's how we walked in, starting off a whole new adventure!

As soon as we walked in, the place was lit up with natural light streaming in from these huge windows.
Even though the space was a bit smaller than I thought (which they said they can seat up to 60 people online at Il Mulino), those high ceilings gave the whole place a spacious vibe.

& genuine warmth
A big thing that I loved about our time at Il Mulino — the genuine warmth and smiles from our server. We had conversations and it just felt so genuine.
I love when people who are working just spicing things up with a friendly conversation, getting to know who their customers are and love learning about the business itself as well.
When you start having a friendly conversation going, you feel more relaxed and at home. It just felt like the perfect day and time to dine at Il Mulino for lunch. Everything was perfect!
What surprised me the most was instead of a regular bread basket, they handed us breadsticks and Charcuterie — which I originally thought it was appetizers for another table, but they said it was for us! Even though I’m pescatarian, the thoughtfulness just elevates the dining experience.

Soho's streets are like a treasure trove, right? You walk along and bam, art galleries rubbing shoulders with quirky boutiques, cobblestone streets with cool cafés. And guess what? Il Mulino sits right in the middle of all this!
And the cherry on top? Il Mulino Prime’s spot on Broadway — the street where everything's poppin'. You finish up your shopping spree, you grab a bite, and you're ready for round two, all without skipping a beat. The Soho vibe just adds that extra sprinkle of magic to your whole experience ✨

Honestly, it's a bit of a blur what we actually ordered – I mean, sometimes I remember to write it down but not this time apparently! 😂
Even though the names of the dishes slipped my mind, the taste? So fire. I highly recommend the Grilled Octopus!
Our cocktails was also really good and refreshing. Although Joley did mention that hers was definitely very strong — maybe a bit too much for a late afternoon lunch, but she still enjoyed her drink!
